As of November 7, 2012, a total of 153 (130 students and 23 partners) have already paid or deposited for the Marist Graduation Ball 2013.
Also on November 7, we deposited P60,000 and confirmed our reservations at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria Hotel. We currently have a tentative booking for the best venue in the hotel: the large, elegant and high ceiling Grand Ballroom A. But we need to confirm a minimum of 400 attendees to ensure our use of Grand Ballroom A. If we can not confirm 400 attendees, we will be transferred to either the less impressive (but high ceiling) Ballroom BCDE, or the least impressive (and low ceiling) Opal/Rudy ballroom.
This is our graduation ball, and we want the very best venue for our most memorable and final moments as Marist students. We must reach 400 confirmed attendees by Nov 21!
We have a new discounted rate of P1,700 per head if you pay on or before November 21, 2012. We encourage the Marist School Year 10 students/parents/guardians to avail of this discounted rate or at least deposit P600 (for full price of P1,900) on or before November 21, 2012.
Please pay in full (P1,700) , or at least pay the P600 deposit.
If you have not yet paid for the graduation ball, please do so NOW! If you have paid, consider paying for your partner NOW! And whether you have paid or not, encourage your classmates and friends to pay NOW!

The recent survey served as guide for the MSPTA to make a shortlist of candidate venues for the Graduation Ball, approximate per head budget, and candidate dates.
With the Graduation Ball still many months away, most of the preferred venues are already fully booked for March 15, 22 and 23, 2013. We are pencil booked at:
Ticket cost of P1,900 per head covers cost of venue, dinner buffet for attendees and guests (Year 10 teachers), mobile disco and photo-booths, and is feasible at the Eastwood Richmonde Hotel with AT LEAST 200 CONFIRMED ATTENDEES. Marist School Graduation Ball 2013
One of the traditions for high school graduating classes is to have a graduation ball. It is their last party in a special venue, to celebrate the joys and victories of studying in Marist School Marikina for eleven years, to bid acquaintances good bye, to wish each other good luck as they welcome new beginnings in college life and to commit to stay in touch with friends. Graduation ball is their one night to remember Marist School and friends
The Year 10 MSPTA representatives propose to help organize the Marist School Graduation Ball 2013, specifically the venue, physical arrangements and food for the event. To make the event memorable, we would like to ensure that the environment be conducive to enjoyment, that the venue be comfortable, presentable and accessible with good sounds and lights, and with sufficient food and drinks for a party atmosphere.
The program itself will be handled by the graduating class and their teachers.
For the event, we propose that we budget tickets costs to cover only basic costs related to the event such as venue fees, sounds, lights, photo and food.
To prevent unexpected cost overruns beyond the amount originally budgeted, we further propose minor fund raising events such as cake/ load raffles during the school year to defray “luxury” expenses such as decoration, photo booths and event souvenirs. If we have no extra funds, we simply cut back on these other items.
The event will be from 6 pm to 12 midnight before or after Graduation Day. The Marist graduation dates are March 16, 2013 for Year 6 and March 17, 2013 for Year 10. Possible graduation ball dates are:
This project will require funding of initial costs, such as deposits and reservation fees. All venues require 30% to 50% fee to reserve the venue for the desired date, and full payment months before the event. Most caterers similarly require 20% to 50% deposit for a reservation. For hotel venues, the food and drinks will be provided by the hotel. For non-hotel venues, we have the flexibility to choose food caterers with unlimited drinks.
This blog is our announcement board for news and chronicles of events and activities related to the proposed project.
We now start our search for candidate venues, caterers and service providers. We similarly start to do the math for the expenses, and selling the idea to the various stakeholders: the graduating class, the parents, the teachers, Marist School and other MSPTA members.
